C., not to take part in first 100 days events, but to protest in favor of a law that their CEO and President says helped put him there. The NAACP came together with a number of civil rights organizations to demonstrate in favor of Section 5 of the Voting Rights Act.

Sojourner Truth Bust Unveiled

First Lady Michelle Obama joined Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in unveiling a bronze bust of former slave, abolitionist and women's suffragist Sojourner Truth at the White House on April 29. Sojourner Truth is the first African-American woman to be so honored.

"I hope that Sojourner Truth would be proud to see me, a descendant of slaves, serving as the First Lady of the United States of America,” Mrs. Obama said.
